Not long after that I went on the offensive. The AI casualties increased dramatically to the point they were losing about 3 to my 1. The first real noticeable difference I saw was when I finally was able to field some 7-2's, with engineer, art, and AA support. Later on, I finally was able to add engineer and artillery to my 10-0s and the AI started to take some losses. My losses were still higher than the AI's. It was not until I was able to make some 10-0 divisions that I felt I was holding the line well. I did not see much improvement in my situation. I am sure the AI artillery was causing the extra losses to me since the Japanese had only 115 CAS for the entire front.Įventually, I was able to add some engineer support to some of the divisions. I was losing about 2 to 3 soldiers to the AI 1, so winning was costly. I know this is not your situation, but it lets you know that even such weak infantry divisions can hold back AI 7-2 divisions, but with considerable player micromanaging. I was constantly rotating divisions, but with the micromanaging of lots of reserves behind the line, I held. I had no industry so I could only produce more of the same, but I built a lot. I know it is not the situation you described, but it may have some lessons for you.Īt first I was holding the line with 6 battalion infantry divisions with no support. Still, I will tell you what my experience has been. You have already posted what many consider the default METAs so you probably already know the deal.
